World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest

February 22-24, 2018


It’s back!  The World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest is three days of cooking, competition, eating, and dancing. The sweet aroma drifts over the Houston metropolis, drawing crowds like bees to honey. Trophies are awarded to teams preparing the best dish in each category (brisket, chicken, pork and spare ribs) as well as an overall winner. The Cooking Competition:  More than 250 teams, lead by barbecue enthusiasts, compete in the World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest.  Although most of the team tents are invitation-only, visitors can still enjoy the several public venues which include The Garden, Rockin’ Bar-B-Que Saloon, and the Chuck Wagon.  If you’re up for wild rides and fun, then the carnival is where you’ll want to be.

Music:  You’ll hear some of the best up-and-coming and established artists in Texas country at The Garden Stage, which is sponsored by Miller Lite.  The Rockin’ Bar-B-que Saloon also features live and DJ music.  Visitors can enjoy the outside patio.  Inside the saloon is the Chuck Wagon, you’ll find visitors picking their complementary sliced brisket plate with chips and beans.  

Tickets:  Tickets allow entrance into NRG Park for the World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest and includes a complimentary sliced barbecue brisket plate, access to live music areas, and admission to the carnival.  Click here for Ticket Information!

Not Included: Access to private tents – If you have a private tent pass, you must also have a grounds ticket. Tent passes are not for sale and are distributed by the Bar-B-Que teams.
